Quick Update from Haven Hobby!
Hello folks!
We have had such an amazing year to date and I thought I would take a moment just to share some thoughts and updates. So much has been absolutely astonishing from the Wingnut Wings kits to the response of our model railroading customers to the growth of this very website that it’s hard to keep track of. So here’s a few things.
Ordering Increases - We’ve run into what’s a good problem to have! More customers are buying more products in multiples. As such, we’re working hard to up our ordering quantities. We freely admit we goofed and initially under-ordered on the Revell Bronco/Bass Boat combos and the Tamiya 1/48th fighter/ground vehicle combos. We will restock those as quickly as possible!
Shop Layout - We have laid about 80% of the track for the shop layout and anticipate that HO scale trains will be running again in-store by the end of this week, barring any unforeseen screw up on our parts. The shop layout is planned to serve three purposes. One, to demonstrate scenery products, rolling stock, and locomotives in use. Two, to test freshly serviced or programmed customer locomotives. Three, we want to have a model railroad of our own.
Upcoming Paint Expansions - Paint is, of course, a major component of what makes Haven Hobby unique. As such, we’ve been carefully preparing for the next paint line to bring in. We have earmarked finally having the full range of Gundam Markers on hand, the AFV range of AK Interactive 3rd Gen paints, and the full Tamiya spray range including AS sprays as the top priorities for growing the wall of paint.
Inventory Growth - Some days it’s hard to keep up! It’s no secret that we have a fantastic turnover rate when it comes to kits. There are days when we look at the shelves and think “How are we going to fill this now?” We’ve placed ordering priorities on rebuilding the armor selection particularly in Tamiya, Takom, Das Werk, and Border, continuing to maintain the Gundam wall along with a broader selection of kits from other anime franchises, maintaining a combination of new release and high rotation stock in automotive kits, and rebuilding the selection of 1/48th and 1/72nd scale staples in aircraft. On top of this, our goal by the end of the summer is to have truly browsable selections in HO and N scale including rolling stock, locomotives (DCC equipped and DCC ready), and buildings. We don’t want any scale or subject hobbyist to feel left out at Haven.
