AK Interactive Real Color Update and Plan
Good morning everyone.
So, many of you may or may not be aware that AK Interactive is retooling their much loved Real Colors range. The range is being brought down from the current 247 color range of Basics, Armor, and Air colors to a 180 color mix of Standard, Civil, and Military colors. They are also moving from the current 10mm jars to a 17mm dropper bottle. They will keep the range a lacquer based range so presumably the paints will remain the same for ease of use and quality of coverage if not improved and will remain compatible with most solvent based thinners including the popular blend of mixing them with Mr Leveling Thinner.
What does this mean at Haven Hobby going forward?
Well, good question with a few answers. Firstly, we’re unable to restock the 10ml jars of Real Color. What’s on our shelves is what we have point blank. It also means that if a color is out that a builder needs, we will do our best to assist with cross references to help folks finish their builds. We will continue to sell down existing inventory of AK Interactive Real Color with the goal that by the time we’ve emptied the Air and Armor racks we will be able to bring in the new 17ml Real Color range. Obviously, our valued customers can and are helping immeasurably with that task! As such, we do ask online AK buyers to please call ahead before placing paint orders as paint stocks change rapidly in comparison to online quantities. Also, if you’re in search of an AK Real Color paint that’s not currently on the website, we may still have it in stock!
